Surface particle shape and particle span of AG glass equipment

AG glass equipment, also known as anti-glare glass, is a kind of glass that is specially processed on the surface of the glass. Its characteristic is that the high-reflective surface of the original glass becomes low-reflective The surface (the glass surface is chemically treated to generate SIF4 ions, etc.). The principle is a chemical reaction dominated by SIO2+4HF=SIF4+2H2O.

Generally speaking, the finer the particles on the surface of AG glass, the more uniform the particles, the better the presentation effect; we usually use the concept of roughness to express the particle size of AG glass, and compare different AG glass by visual observation. It is easy to distinguish with the naked eye, which means that if the particles are larger, the surface is rougher, the haze will increase, and the resolution will be low; some particles are smaller, the surface is more delicate, and the resolution will become higher.

AG glass equipment

We can use the equipment to observe AG glass particles to see the shape of the particles more intuitively. In addition, by connecting the display screen to display the enlarged image of the AG glass surface particles on the display screen, use the software tool to test the size of the particle span (generally In micrometers), observe whether the particle span of the AG glass surface is uniform or not through the image.

The more uniform the particles, the smaller the particle span, the more delicate the effect picture displayed through the anti-glare glass, and the clearer the image. Under the particle image processing instrument, we observe the size of the particles, various shapes such as spherical, cubic, non-spherical, irregular shape and so on.

When the light beam passes through a medium with uneven particles, it will scatter in all directions, and part of it will diffract and weaken the reflection. For AG glass, the shape of the particles on the glass surface is generally polygonal, mainly irregular, because these shapes can weaken the reflected light and form diffuse reflection, which is beneficial to anti-glare.
